Elisapie teams up with Hologramme to release Inuktitut (Remixes) ahead of her Canadian tour

To mark the second anniversary of her album Inuktitut, Elisapie has teamed up with Hologramme to release Inuktitut (Remixes), a new EP out today via Bonsound. Released in September 2023, her fourth solo album earned her a Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year, a Polaris Prize shortlist nomination (2024), several Félix awards, and six nominations for the upcoming ADISQ awards.
This fall, Elisapie will perform in several cities across Ontario, including Toronto at the Danforth Music Hall on November 30. Her Canadian tour will continue in March 2026 with shows in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Dawson City, and more. Visit elisapie.com or see the list below for all dates.

Inuktitut (Remixes) was born from a collaboration between the Inuk singer-songwriter, the electronic music producer, and visual artist Caroline Monnet, who were all commissioned to create a unique work for the 60th anniversary of the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art. These remixes bring together Elisapie's moving and powerful voice with Hologramme's atmospheric and elegantly crafted arrangements. As the music unfolds, they break down the boundaries between tranquillity and excitement to reflect the geometric patterns that characterize Caroline Monnet's body of work.
Working with Elisapie was an incredible, collaborative experience, says Hologramme. We exchanged ideas throughout the process, and the channels were completely open to experimentation, allowing all ideas to be explored.
First presented during a performance at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) in Montreal, these remixed versions of Sinnatuumait (Dreams), Uummati Attanarsimat (Heart of Glass), and Qimatsilunga (I Want to Break Free) immerse us in an introspective, danceable realm where frontiers are blurred and emotions are raw.
About Inuktitut
Elisapie reinvigorates the poetry of 10 legendary songs (by Leonard Cohen, Blondie, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac to name a few) by translating and singing them in her mother tongue. The raw sounds of the thousand-year-old Inuit language give each track a unique and deeply personal quality. Each song, produced by her close collaborator Joe Grass, is linked to a loved one or an intimate story that shaped Elisapie’s identity. Through this act of cultural reappropriation, she tells her story and offers these songs as a gift to her community, making her language and culture resonate beyond the borders of the Inuit territory.
Acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, Inuktitut was released in September 2023. In addition to spending four weeks in the Top 10 album sales chart in Canada, the album garnered attention from KEXP, Le Monde, Vogue, Rolling Stone, CBC, ELLE Canada, Exclaim!, The Globe and Mail, and many others. It is the Inuk artist's second album to land a shortlist nomination for the Polaris Music Prize. Since its release, Elisapie has played over 90 shows in her home country and has toured in Europe, the U.S., Australia and Japan.

About Elisapie
Elisapie's unconditional attachment to her territory and language, Inuktitut, remains at the core of her creative journey. Born and raised in Salluit, a small village in Nunavik accessible only by plane, Elisapie is an emblematic Canadian Inuk singer-songwriter. Since winning her first JUNO Award in 2005 with her band Taima, her body of work has been praised many times. Always surrounded by the best musicians from the Montreal indie and folk scenes, Elisapie makes her culture resonate with finesse by mixing modernity and tradition.
