Virginie B returns with new electropop single Chamaille

Virginie B is back with Chamaille, a high-octane bop that has become a staple of her live shows even before its official release. First performed on stage over a year ago, it is a transitional single for the artist, bridging the gap between her latest album Astral 2000 and the next chapter of her career.
Originally composed on piano with French pop icon Mylène Farmer in mind, the song turned into one of Virginie B’s most danceable cuts, driven by an irresistible hook and densely layered production by longtime close collaborator Louis Jeay-Beaulieu. The result is a distorted and decidedly modern take on the Eurodance sound of the early aughts.
I was thinking about those long, late nights spent sitting on the sidewalk outside the bar, confiding in strangers. Sharing the intensity of life—even in half-spoken words, even when it’s late, even if we’re hurting ourselves a little in the process—and pouring ourselves into the other person to forget the immensity of the surrounding chaos. Finding comfort in the now, courage in sharing, to face the next day—is it really so bad if it makes us feel better, even just a little?, says Virginie B about her inspiration for the song.
Chamaille is packaged with an electrifying techno cover of Lost Woods, one of the most iconic themes from the soundtrack of Nintendo game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, composed by Koji Kondo. On stage, the two tracks are mixed seamlessly into one another, culminating in one of the show's most exhilarating moments.

After being nominated in the Revelation of the Year category at the 2025 ADISQ Gala, Virginie B won the Lucien Award for Electronic Album of the Year at the GAMIQ (for Astral 2000) and was nominated in three other categories: Artist of the Year, Single of the Year (for Autoportrait), and Professional Music Video of the Year (for the album’s title track).
