Virginie B releases new remixes of her songs Autoportrait and 3_3_4

Virginie B called on her friends SUUNCAAT, JORDANN and Hébertisme to complete the cycle of her latest album, Astral 2000, with remixes of Autoportrait and 3_3_4. Two new versions with different styles, but that evoke the same thing: a packed arcade.

Listen to Autoportrait / 3_3_4 (Remixes)

For the remix of Autoportrait, SUUNCAAT drew from the video game-inspired textures and melodies of the original to create a hyper-energetic happy hardcore version that sounds like it came straight out of a racing game from the first PlayStation.

Next up is the remix of 3_3_4, on which JORDANN and Hébertisme teamed up to transform the original interlude into a deep house track that evokes the inviting ambiance of those idle moments characteristic of arcade games: the main menu, character selection, or highlights replays.

If we were in an arcade, JORDANN and Hébertisme's remix would be like riding a motorcycle in your favorite game, and SUUNCAAT's would be like participating in a wild drift race in Tokyo, adds Virginie. It's basically an invitation to come play with us.

After being nominated in the Revelation of the Year category at the 2025 ADISQ Gala, Virginie B won the Lucien Award for Electronic Album of the Year at the GAMIQ (for Astral 2000) and was nominated in three other categories: Artist of the Year, Single of the Year (for Autoportrait), and Professional Music Video of the Year (for the album’s title track). She will be performing at the Mariposa Folk Festival and OSHEAGA this summer; see the list below for all details.

About Astral 2000

The irreverent Virginie B reveals her extravagance on Astral 2000, her second album and first to be released on Bonsound. At once quirky and accessible, visceral and sophisticated, synthetic and deeply human, its songs explore conflicting personal themes: Virginie goes back and forth between her love of nature and fascination with new technologies, her longing for lazy days and the urgency of her mortality, her desire for simple pleasures and need to perform in the spotlight, her relationship with her femininity, her desires and the excesses they often result in.

Conceived alongside producer and multi-instrumentalist Louis Jeay-Beaulieu, Astral 2000 is one of the first hyperpop albums to come out of Quebec, and its originality makes it stand out from the genre’s leading acts. On this second album, Virginie B presents herself as a carefree queen, a digital nymph, a timeless creature.

About Virginie B

Virginie B's irresistible quirkiness is matched only by her boundless creativity. The singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist offers a unique interpretation of hyperpop that incorporates touches of nu-jazz, funk and R&B, complemented with a sophisticated conceptual approach inherited from art pop and a pronounced taste for maximalism and glamour.
