Shaina Hayes returns with spring anthem Flourish ahead of European tour supporting The Barr Brothers

Singer-songwriter Shaina Hayes is back with Flourish, a gentle folk-pop meditation on love, growth and the beauty of becoming who you are meant to be. Marking the first glimpse of her upcoming third studio album, this single arrives less than a month before a short European tour supporting The Barr Brothers, which will take her to Paris, London, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds. See the list below for all details.

Listen to Flourish

Built around breathy vocals and mellow acoustic guitar, Flourish unfolds like a slow spring morning. Warm pedal steel textures and delicate rhythms bloom beneath Hayes' voice as the song paints a soft-focus portrait of affection and desire, leaving listeners punch drunk on pollen and sunshine. Produced alongside her longtime collaborators Francis Ledoux (drums) and David Marchand (guitar, bass, pedal steel and vocals), the track embraces the warmth of alt-country while maintaining the quiet intimacy that has become a hallmark of Hayes’ songwriting.

The idea for the song was inspired by Irish poet John O’Donohue’s book Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom, in which the concept of “flourishing” is described as becoming the fullest, most radiant version of oneself. Inspired by the beauty of the word, Hayes transformed it into a springtime love song that celebrates wishing the very best for the people we hold close.

With the 2024 release of Kindergarten Heart, her second album, Shaina Hayes garnered attention from Consequence, KCRW (NPR), The Line of Best Fit, Under the Radar, Far Out Magazine, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Radio 6 Music, as well as an enthusiastic review in UK magazine Uncut. The album also landed on the year-end lists of Le Devoir, Radio-Canada, CISM, DOMINIONATED and Le Canal Auditif, among others.

About Shaina Hayes

Shaina Hayes is a Canadian singer‑songwriter whose music blends folk‑pop clarity with alt‑country warmth and a deep attention to emotional detail. Known for her graceful vocals, thoughtful lyricism, and quietly magnetic presence, she has emerged as a distinctive voice in contemporary indie folk.

Hayes released her debut album to coax a waltz in 2022, followed by Kindergarten Heart in 2024. Both records introduced her intimate songwriting and earned her a steadily growing audience, leading to tours and opening slots for artists such as The War on Drugs, The Barr Brothers, and Elisapie.

Alongside her musical career, Hayes continues to operate a vegetable farm in the tiny rural hometown where she grew up. The land remains a grounding force in her life, shaping her sense of rhythm, patience, and presence. That dual existence — touring musician and hands‑on grower — informs the clarity and steadiness that run through her songs.
