Les Louanges unveils new single ‘La journée va être chaude’ off the upcoming album Alouette!

Les Louanges kicks off 2026 with a bang by releasing La journée va être chaude, a danceable, socially conscious single off of his album Alouette!, due April 10th via Bonsound. This new song follows the release of GODDAMN! and Je confirme ma présence, also taken from the artist’s upcoming third album.

The Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist has also announced a show at L’Olympia in Montreal on December 4th, 2026, as well as at Impérial Bell in Quebec City on November 28th, 2026. Tickets are on sale now.

Listen to La journée va être chaude

With a wry smile, Les Louanges guides us through this cathartic new anthem, inviting us to dance along his vigorous melodies and groovy rhythms, inspired by artists that were essential to his musical education, such as Parliament-Funkadelic, Sly and the Family Stone, and Prince. Despite its cheerful feel, La journée va être chaude is also a reminder that “the house is burning” and that things are about to get messy, whether we like it or not.

While recording Alouette!, I wanted to convey a sense of energy, to give the impression that the album is a living, breathing, screaming beast... And this song is the perfect example of that, says Vincent Roberge. It’s like the kick is the heart; the bass is the veins; and the guitar is the teeth. Is the song recorded live, or is it produced with a computer? How many people are there shouting at the same time? The answer lies somewhere in the middle of all that…

Pre-order Alouette! on LP/CD

With Alouette!, Les Louanges attempts to make sense of his human condition and Québécois identity by bringing guitars and Joual (the French language dialect spoken in Québec) to the forefront while still fuelling his signature grooves. More rock-oriented than his previous albums, this third effort is luminous yet rich in sounds, emotion and political commentary. It unfolds through a journey that will lead Loulou to encounter universal experiences such as illness, death, and true love.

Alouette!

The album is also the result of an artistic quest that began during a period of self-reflection, when Vincent Roberge (aka Les Louanges or Loulou for short) seized the opportunity to take a break after his last extended tour. Alongside the existential questions typical of someone approaching their thirties came a rediscovery of the classics—from Leonard Cohen and Prince, to Richard Desjardins and the nursery rhyme that gives the album its name–, then a full exploration. In addition to playing most of the instruments himself, the singer-songwriter revived obscure Quebec records through sampling and got to experiment with actual sound recording. Roberge co-produced Alouette! with his long-time collaborator Félix Petit (because why change a winning formula).

Four years after the success of his sophomore album Crash, Les Louanges returns more confident than ever, thanks to a renewed cultural and emotional baggage that allows him to reflect on the past to better engage with the present, while also enjoying it to the fullest. All of this, without overlooking the future, which he foresees with hope despite the collective challenges that await us.

About Les Louanges

Les Louanges is the project of Vincent Roberge, a Montreal-based singer-songwriter and producer full of raw talent and musical audacity. Influenced by the likes of D'Angelo, Gorillaz and Leonard Cohen, Roberge has honed his distinctive style over the years; a fusion of contemporary funk and soul with a pop sensibility that established him as one of the key figures in the resurgence of the Quebec music scene. To him, creation is much more than just lyrics and chords. Through his arrangements, electroacoustic programming, synthesizer use and sampling, Vincent Roberge also shines as a producer, a skill he cultivates with his faithful collaborator Félix Petit.

The Lévis-born artist hit hard with his debut effort, La nuit est une panthère. Released in September 2018 via Bonsound, the album was praised by critics for its refreshing musical blend and for bringing groove to the forefront of Quebec’s musical landscape, which historically focused on guitars and folk music.

The word quickly spread across the Atlantic, where Les Louanges performed at well-known venues in Paris (La Maroquinerie, Le Trabendo). Back home in Canada, his momentum continued to grow as his album made its way onto the Polaris Prize Short List and earned multiple awards. Far from resting on his laurels, Vincent Roberge returned in the summer of 2019 with Expansion Pack, an EP best described as “La nuit est une panthère on steroids".

In January 2022, Les Louanges unveiled Crash, a second opus with a more assertive pop sound on which Vincent Roberge continued his ambitious and inventive musical quest. It earned him a Juno for Francophone Album of the Year (for the second time), a place on the Polaris Prize Long List, and several nominations at the Gala de l'ADISQ, where he won in the Arrangements of the Year category alongside Félix Petit.

In February 2023, Les Louanges released Sur la mélodie, an Afrobeats-infused single produced in collaboration with French rapper and singer Ichon. The earworm Central Park Lafontaine followed in the spring. This song quickly became a classic in Les Louanges' catalogue and marked the end of a chapter for Roberge, who took some time off to contemplate his next move. On April 10th, 2026, he will return with Alouette!, his highly anticipated third album.
