Claudia Bouvette returns with new single Amour écran

Claudia Bouvette today unveils Amour écran, an utterly irresistible pop song sung in French. Like her second album DIARY FOR THE LONELY HEARTS from 2024 (which earned the singer-songwriter an ADISQ nomination), this new song was co-written and produced by Soran.

Listen to Amour écran

Rooted in modern dream pop, Amour écran is steeped in a melancholic nostalgia. The song blends Bouvette’s unapologetic vulnerability with ethereal synths and a catchy melody. The lyrics are inspired by the idyllic cinematic version of romance, which shapes our expectations as much as it fuels our illusions. The musician delves into a universal dilemma: should we choose reason or give in to the impulse to “bite the apple,” even when the relationship seems doomed from the start?

Last year, Claudia Bouvette released the deluxe edition of her sophomore album DIARY FOR THE LONELY HEARTS. This edition includes four bonus tracks reimagined with the ensemble Strings from Paris, known for their contribution to the Bridgerton soundtrack, and whose arrangements propel Claudia’s music into a whole new sonic universe.

About Claudia Bouvette

Regardless of the artistic medium, Claudia Bouvette's message is one of empowerment and freedom to be oneself. Her work encourages openness and the courage to assert one's true self.

Since the release of her debut album, The Paradise Club (2022), Claudia Bouvette has performed at major festivals such as Osheaga, FEQ, and FestiVoix de Trois-Rivières, where she fulfilled a childhood dream of singing with Simple Plan. She also performed across Quebec and Ontario, notably opening for Ne-Yo and Sean Paul. She appeared on the cover of Elle Québec in 2022, and has made several television appearances as a performer, co-host, and actress since.

She followed up in 2024 with DIARY FOR THE LONELY HEARTS, a sophomore album she co-wrote with Soran, which reflects a creative approach imbued with fun, freedom, and serenity. Driven by the aesthetics of the early 2000s, Claudia Bouvette rekindles her early musical loves, delving into the creative spaces of No Doubt and Imogen Heap, without shying away from her electro and hip-hop influences. The singer offers her unique outlook on the pitfalls of love, pitfalls which transform into opportunities to become the best version of oneself.
